The National Council for Technical and Technological Education (NCTTE) was established in December 2005 to consolidate all programs dealing with technical and vocational education under one accreditation body. The council consists of 38 members headed by the vice president of
northern Sudan. The purpose of the NCTTE is to improve the quality of technical and vocational education and to ensure that the courses and programs offered correspond with the needs of the labour market.
