KSTVET is a premier national institution mandated to strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training through capacity building, research, curriculum support, digital transformation, and policy advisory services. Our mission is to advance quality, inclusive, and industry-responsive TVET systems in Kenya and across Africa.

Over the years, KSTVET has played a strategic role in training TVET trainers, managers, and leaders from both public and private institutions. The institution has been at the forefront of implementing Competency-Based Education and Training, promoting digital learning, advancing innovation, and strengthening governance within the TVET sector. Through partnerships with organizations such as International Labor Organization, Huawei, Microsoft, and the Commonwealth of Learning, KSTVET has successfully trained thousands of TVET practitioners in areas including blended learning, digital skills, artificial intelligence in education, and CBET delivery. The institution has also received international recognition through awards from the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics for excellence in teacher professional development.

As a regional hub for innovation, KSTVET hosts the National ODeL Centre, the MAHE TVET platform serving 13 African countries, and the Africa Regional Centre of Excellence for Open TVET. These initiatives position the institution as a center of excellence in TVET transformation and digital learning.
