Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) has a student body of approximately 22,800 students and 2,450 employees.

It has four faculties:Faculty of Health Sciences; Faculty of Education and International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences; and Faculty of Technology, Art and Design.

The department of Vocational Teacher Education is part of the Faculty of Education and International Studies, and is the leading academic community for vocational pedagogy in Norway. We offer study programs in vocational teacher education and vocational pedagogy, postgraduate certificate education for vocational teachers (PPU-Y) and driving instructor education. The department also offers continuing and further education and does considerable contract work. We have a broad focus on research and development and work in close cooperation with schools and workplaces.

The institute has five research groups:Cooperation between school - working life – and university; Lifelong Learning; Sustainability and Technology in Work and Learning; Vocational Education and Training in Transformation (VETT); and Vocational Knowledge in a Diversity Perspective.
