There is an urgent need to expand the skilled workforce and promote green practices in the building and construction industry. The sector, currently employing approximately 7 per cent of the global working population, accounts for over a third of global energy demand.

This publication examines the transformation of TVET for construction through intersecting lenses of digitalization, greening and migration. Drawing on insights from the Bridging Innovation and Learning in TVET (BILT) Expert Group, case studies and literature from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe, it analyses trends and provides recommendations for making TVET more inclusive, future-focused and resilient.

These recommendations integrate cross-cutting insights and pathways for aligning standards, delivery, partnerships and workforce planning in construction-related training.
