The UNESCO Recommendation concerning Technical and Vocational Education and Training was adopted by UNESCO’s General Conference in November 2015. It aims to promote technical and vocational education and training (TVET) as part of lifelong learning and to contribute to employment and decent work, inclusive and sustainable economic growth and competitiveness, social equity, and environmental sustainability. This report presents a synthesis of the outcomes of the Second Consultation of Member States on the implementation of the 2015 TVET Recommendation, covering the period from 2019 to 2022. The report, drawing on the responses of nearly 90 Member States, presents an overview of the current state of TVET in the world, the challenges faced and the opportunities ahead.
