Skillsets in transit: understanding recognition, validation and accreditation of learning outcomes for migrants and refugees

The recognition, validation and accreditation (RVA) of formal and non-formal learning is a transformative tool for fostering inclusivity in both the labour market and society at large. For migrants and refugees, who often arrive in host countries without documentation of their past achievements, RVA provides pathways to integration.

In an era of heightened global mobility, this literature review calls for strengthened RVA mechanisms to support political stability, economic development and cultural diversity. Skillsets in Transit: Understanding Recognition, Validation and Accreditation of Learning Outcomes for Migrants and Refugees shares best practices from various countries and highlights key regional and international initiatives, serving as a valuable resource for policy-makers, RVA programme planners and facilitators worldwide.
