General competencies

Parent term: Competence/y

The minimum general technical competencies required to be acquired by all occupations / trades during their training and career development period. They are not specific to work in a particular occupation, job, trade or industry, but is important for work, education and life generally, e.g. communication and information skills, planning and organizational skills, mathematical skills, solving problems, computer literacy, interpersonal competence, and analytical skills. (Definition also used by NCEVER. See "Generic skills")
