The European Union (EU) is partnering with the Government of Malawi and UNESCO to expand and improve equitable and gender-balanced technical, entrepreneurial and vocational education and training (TEVET) through the Skills and Technical Education Programme (STEP). Given that the challenges associated with TVET systems are not unique to Malawi, but are experienced throughout the sub-Saharan Africa region, on the African continent and globally,
the STEP project organized a regional workshop in Malawi to share and reflect on the results of different studies examining the TEVET system in Malawi.
The sharing of relevant practices in the region will facilitate the integration of a number of good practices into the recommendations of the studies. It is expected that lessons learned from other countries will also help in the fine-tuning of the proposed activities for STEP in Malawi.
