Neurolearning combines psychology, pedagogy and neuroscience to explain how the brain learns and aims to adapt learning processes to the diversity of brains found in a classroom. It emphasizes the importance of understanding the relationship between the brain's functioning and how it acquires knowledge to improve pedagogical planning and student academic performance.
Positive emotions facilitate learning while negative emotions create barriers. Neurolearning involves both conscious (explicit) and metaconscious (implicit) learning, with the former being a decision made by the student and the latter occurring through practice and repetition. The approach encourages the use of neuro-pedagogical strategies that promote neural connections for lasting knowledge acquisition.
