The Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador is the only university in the country that has seven campuses in seven different cities in Ecuador. With more than 75 years of experience, the university has launched PUCE TEC at a national level as an answer to the country’s needs of a specialized Unit on TVET Education. PUCE TEC uses a participatory and inclusive approach to design innovative programs that respond to the Ecuadorian and the international market needs since we work hand on hand with the private sector and with different civil society organizations related to the programs. Moreover, the Institution has implemented hybrid learning offers, a relatively new approach/modality in the country, that combines a high percentage of online live lessons with face-to-face ones in schedules outside working hours in order to provide engaging learning opportunities to students allowing them to combine work and TVET. This modality has been prioritized in the curriculum designed since the Institution has move accordingly with the changes produced by the COVID 19 pandemic regarding the transition to distance learning and the major technological turn that pushes societies to use the unique opportunities provided by digital technologies.

In 2026, we will be an academic unit of national reference, acting as an active part of PUCE university community, at a technical and technological level, for personal and social transformation, at the service of a fraternal, fair, and sustainable world. We identify ourselves as an inclusive, efficient project, in dialogue with its environment and in constant academic and organizational innovation.
