Afpa is France’s leading public provider of vocational training and a key component of the national public employment service. Established in 1949 and operating as a State-Owned Industrial and Commercial Institution (EPIC), Afpa works closely with national and local stakeholders to support skills development and labour market integration.
Afpa delivers training across three main sectors—Construction, Industry, and Services—and continuously adapts its programmes to economic and societal changes. Since 2018, it has modernized its services by updating training offers, integrating centres into local ecosystems, and adapting learning approaches.
Mandated by the Ministry of Labour, Afpa contributes to public service missions through professional qualification development, training for emerging skills, labour market analysis, and targeted support for vulnerable groups, including youth, job seekers, and refugees.
Through its international cooperation activities, Afpa develops partnerships and implements projects that support vocational training systems worldwide.
