The Section for Research and Development of Education is a separate organisational unit within the Ministry of Education which works on educational research, the development of the system of education as well as on information and documentation for this area. Besides conducting research in general issues concerning the conception, planning and development of the system of education, other issues such as structural changes in the world of work, other countries´ experences and international standards, are being analysed. The section´s information and documentation service has a long tradition and it is engaged in all usual information and documentation activities (collecting, processing and keeping documents, publications and books). The section itself publishes a number of periodicals and books on education in the world and in Yugoslavia. Vocational training is one of section´s main fields of work.
