Since January 2022, UNESCO-UNEVOC has been implementing the Building resilience in TVET for a just and sustainable transition project to support TVET stakeholders to work towards their vision for achieving institutional resilience.
The project carried out several capacity-building activities that encouraged TVET stakeholders to review the resilience measures adopted and enhance the strategic areas aimed at future resilience of TVET. Operationally, these areas for review and strengthening focused on planning systems and institutional development in a bid to address learner-centred, skills-related challenges to jobs and employment, lifelong learning and system adaptation brought about by greening and climate change impact, digital transformation, inclusion, and entrepreneurial learning.
On 4 April 2023, a Project Learning Forum was held to reflect upon the concept of resilience, share key takeaways from training activities and discuss what these insights mean for the future of TVET.
Project Learning Forum outputs
- Research insights on TVET resilience at institutional and system levels validated and disseminated.
- Elaborated practical strategies and examples of how to build resilience in TVET institutions.
- Perspectives of and lessons learned in TVET resilience shared across the TVET network.
- Future action towards fostering resilience.
