Adopted at the World Summit on Teachers, the Santiago Consensus affirms the international community’s shared commitment to reversing the global teacher shortage and empowering the profession.

Aligned with the Fortaleza Declaration and informed by global and regional consultations organized by the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee (HLSC), the Consensus commits to strengthening the teaching profession, increasing teachers’ participation and mobilizing resources.
