This edition, the Inter-Agency Group is casting its spotlight on activities implemented in the Asia-Pacific region, as the second IAG-TVET meeting takes place on the 2 December 2025, in Manila, hosted by the Asian Development Bank.

In this Newsletter, Members have shared a comprehensive blend of focused publications, strategies, dedicated events and various knowledge management products that create a landscape of skills development practices in Asia-Pacific countries. The International Labour Organization (ILO) proposes an extensive library of publications and webinars, covering the subcontinents of South and Southeast Asia, that highlights: the future of green skills; migration and recognition of skills; and ASEAN cooperation in TVET. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees provides an analysis of refugee inclusion through a newly developed collection of “Southeast Asia TVET Country Profiles”. The OECD partnered with the Royal Thai Government to develop a Skills Strategy in the context of post-COVID recovery, while the British Council advises and implements TVET programmes in Pakistan and Nepal. Kazakhstan’ robotics skills sector benefits from support offered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which is also advancing efforts towards higher inclusion of women in STEM learning.

Lastly, UNESCO is leading two initiatives focusing on Asia-Pacific countries: the Global Skills Tracker (GST) and Global Inventory of national and Regional Qualifications Frameworks (GINRQF), which serve respectively as tools for skills demand, labour market analysis and national & regional qualifications frameworks mapping. All initiatives from partners are complemented by the activities and knowledge produced by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which focuses solely on the Asia-Pacific region.
