Winners of the Skills in Action Photo Competition 2021
UNESCO-UNEVOC invited photographers from around the world to capture unique moments highlighting skills in action. The more than 300 submissions focused on how TVET is equipping young people with skills for the future in the following categories:
* TVET for a sustainable future – photos highlighting how skilled young people are applying their knowledge and training to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
* Preparing for a digitalized world – photos highlighting how the digitalization of TVET is helping to build skills and competencies for the changing future of work.
* Skills for inclusive growth – photos highlighting the importance of ensuring equal access to innovative, future-oriented TVET, regardless of gender, ethnicity, nationality or disability.
We are pleased to announce the winners of the Skills in Action Photo Competition 2021.
1st prize winner
Description: This person is training to be a welder at Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, Inc. in Cainta, Philippines. The organization focuses on improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities (PWD) by providing free vocational training, equal educational access and mobility aid assistance.
2nd prize winner
Description: This photo shows a skilled young woman who is applying her knowledge and training to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future. She is fixing a solar power line to the main supply as a Solar PV Technician.
3rd prize winner
Description: The more sustainable solution to making electricity for all a reality is through renewable energy. This picture, taken in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, shows technicians installing solar panels on the house of a private user who understands the importance of reducing our carbon footprint. Looking to be a global citizen? Going solar is a great way to contribute to making the world a greener place.
