Skills in Action Photo Competition 2023
UNESCO-UNEVOC invited photographers from around the world to capture unique moments highlighting skills in action. We received more than 500 submissions showing how TVET equips young people with skills for inclusive and sustainable societies.
Here are the winners of the Skills in Action Photo Competition 2023!
1st prize winner
Photographer's caption: A technician works to maintain a wind turbine using his skills and training to help create a more sustainable future for all.
2nd prize winner
Photographer's caption: TVET students work collaboratively in a workshop when troubleshooting for HVAC units in a hybrid learning environment.
3rd prize winner
Photographer's caption: A young technician monitoring the operation process of converting retired batteries into reusable ones at the new energy control console.
Special mentions
Best young photographer
Photographer's caption: Hydroponic farming is the cultivation of plants using water-based solutions rather than soil. This system requires skilled labour to support its success, such as hydroponic researchers.
Best photo of inclusive TVET
Photographer's caption: This young man has not let his disability hinder him from acquiring skills. He is confidently pursuing advanced technology training in the TVET sector. Disability should not be a barrier to skilling youth for the future. In fact, promoting inclusivity and providing equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities is not only a moral imperative but also beneficial for society.
