Well to wheel (WtW, W2W)

The concept of “Well-to-Wheel” (WtW) refers to a comprehensive analysis of the environmental impact and greenhouse gas emissions of a vehicle throughout its entire lifecycle, considering all stages from raw material extraction to the use of fuel or energy in the vehicle itself.

This approach takes into account not only the direct emissions from a moving vehicle (referred to as “Tank-to-Wheel”) but also considers emissions associated with the production, transport, and distribution of the fuel or energy used by the vehicle (referred to as “Well-to-Tank”).
