Dear readers,
For TVET institutions to remain relevant and attractive to learners, they need to provide digital skills and competencies for the changing world of work and embrace the opportunities brought about by the green transition. However, success in tackling these challenges and harnessing the benefits depends largely on the capabilities of TVET teachers and trainers.
With this in mind, our recent activities have focused on empowering TVET providers to assess their preparedness for the future and equipping them with the necessary tools to implement changes at their own pace. Our new database of toolkits for TVET providers and resources on digital competence frameworks, along with the piloting of a BILT Self-Reflection Tool, are designed to support TVET institutions on their pathway towards innovation and modernization.
These transitions are by no means limited to the TVET sector. This is also the time for transformation of education at the global level to meet the challenges that lie ahead. The upcoming World Youth Skills Day events, launch of the new UNESCO Strategy for TVET and the Transforming Education Summit all spotlight the urgency of re-imagining education systems for the world of today and tomorrow.

Temasek Polytechnic prepares to launch its regional World Youth Skills Day initiative
The WYSD 2022 Asia-Pacific initiative will run from 7 July to 31 October 2022 and feature several events and activities organized by Temasek Polytechnic, together with other UNEVOC Centres, local partners and regional institutions. The initiative seeks to provide a platform for young people so that various stakeholders in TVET can better understand their perspective when it comes to the skills needed for the future.
