Dear readers,
The green transition calls for a change in the mindset and behaviour of learners and the communities around them. TVET institutions will need to create inclusive learning environments that cultivate this positive change.
Although the green transition is expected to be gradual, there are demand-driven opportunities that require preparation. The TVET sector should be ready to anticipate shifts in skills demands and develop reskilling and upskilling opportunities. To support this process, our recent training programmes have focused on providing TVET leaders, managers and systems planners with the knowledge to adapt and take action for a just and green transition.
These programmes have also fostered values of cooperation and solidarity to help participants learn from common experiences and leverage new partnerships to work in synergy for sustainable TVET. A successful journey towards a green transition will depend on TVET institutions that demonstrate strategic leadership, rethink current processes and adopt innovative practices.

UNESCO-UNEVOC held a virtual graduation ceremony for the participants of its TVET Leadership Programme 2022. The programme focused on ‘Rethinking TVET systems and programmes to anticipate demand, adapt and take action for a just and green transition.’

UNESCO’s Global Skills Academy convenes partners to set up action plan to support 10 million learners by 2029
The GSA organized a partners’ meeting to present and define a common action plan on the path to supporting 10 million learners by 2029.The meeting, which took place online on 8 February, gathered over 45 participants, including representatives from the private sector and international organizations, UNESCO and the UNEVOC Network.

Updates from the UNEVOC Network
Shenzhen Polytechnic established as UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET (UNEVOC Centre in China)
Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) has been formally established as the UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET after signing the agreement with UNESCO headquarters in August 2022. The UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET will initiate south-south cooperation, multi-partner cooperation and conduct six sub-programmes.

Three UNEVOC Centres develop guidelines for inclusive vocational excellence as part of the GIVE Project
The guidelines outline practices to make VET more inclusive, from didactics to management and governance. UNEVOC Centres from Italy, Malta and Finland (COMETA, MCAST and Omnia respectively) contributed to the development of the guidelines. Access them in English, Spanish and Italian.

Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education undertakes VET curricula reform (UNEVOC Centre in Croatia)
The project, co-financed by the European Social Fund, entered the final stage, introducing over 100 occupational standards, 145 qualification standards and 140 new curricula in VET, supporting teacher professional development and updating teaching materials.

National Skill Development Corporation and KPMG International launch a new mentorship programme (UNEVOC Centre in India)
Under the scope of the Global Skills Academy, KPMG, a member of UNESCO’s Global Education Coalition, has launched a new mentorship initiative with the National Skill Development Corporation International, a UNEVOC Centre in India, to support young graduates entering the labour market.
