Syllabus

A document which outlines the aims, selection and sequence of contents to be covered, mode of delivery, materials to be used, learning tasks and activities, expected learning objectives or outcomes, and assessment/evaluation schemes of a specific course, unit of study or teaching subject. It is often used incorrectly as an equivalent of the term ‘curriculum’.

The main purpose of the UNESCO IBE Glossary of curriculum-related terminology is not to establish standard universally applicable definitions. Rather, it is intended to be a working reference tool that can be used in a range of activities and help to stimulate reflection among all those involved in curriculum development initiatives.

An outline of a course, study or subject (module) pertaining to specified discipline/profession and which lists what is to be taught or learnt. (Definition also used by Queensland government)

The Egyptian TVET expert Moustafa Wahba developed a glossary based on his own experience as a consultant in TVET.
