Principles of Resouce Design for Literacy Training
Training Materials for Literacy PersonnelThis book is the second in the series of twelve volumes of APPEAL training materials for literacy personnel. Its purpose is to:
a) Establish principles of instructional design appropriate for the development of resource materials for literacy personnel;
b) Review the roles and characteristics of exemplar literacy training manuals (Volumes 5 to 8 of this series);
c) Explain the function of the specifications given for additional manuals (Volume 9);
d) Describe the results of a preliminary evaluation of the scheme.
This volume is introduced as a resource for senior administrators and supervisors of literacy training programmes. Its aim is to facilitate the development of literacy training materials suitable for local and national needs. Because the training manuals described in this book and published as Volumes 5 to 8 of this series are only exemplars, they should be thought of as resources for developing training materials that are relevant to the needs of each member country.
