Issue #22 - June 2025

Dear Readers,

As we approach the 10th anniversary of World Youth Skills Day on 15 July, we reflect on a decade of progress and renew our global commitment to equipping youth with the skills they need for a changing world. With almost 450 million youth economically disengaged due to a lack of adequate skills to succeed in the labour market, this year’s theme — Youth empowerment through AI and digital skills — is more urgent than ever.

The importance of digital and AI-related skills was also a central focus at the recent Global Digital TVET Transformation Summit (DOTS25) in Malaysia, where UNESCO-UNEVOC’s BILT project held a bridging event to examine policies for digital transformation in technical and vocational education and training. The event emphasized the need for inclusive, forward-looking policies that ensure no learner is left behind.

To advance this goal, UNESCO-UNEVOC has launched a new practical guide on inclusion in TVET, offering a step-by-step framework to help institutions build learning environments where all learners can thrive.

Browse the newsletter for more thematic updates, key activities from the UNEVOC Network, new publications and upcoming events.

Best wishes from the UNESCO-UNEVOC team
