Innovative entrepreneurship pathways

Webinar series 21 August - 11 September 2024

As the world of work undergoes major transformations, entrepreneurial learning remains relevant in offering a realistic and achievable means of developing transferable skills that society and the labour market expects of today’s citizens. Rapid changes in the workplace necessitate equipping youth with entrepreneurial skills. Entrepreneurial learning in TVET aims to promote creativity, innovation, and an entrepreneurial mindset which equips youth with the necessary skills to access and thrive in the world of work while supporting their personal development. Many TVET programs often lack this component, hindering graduates' ability to thrive in the evolving job market or pursue self-employment.

The Innovative Pathways Symposium 2024 is a dynamic event designed to explore and showcase approaches in entrepreneurship education and practices in TVET. Focusing on three pivotal areas - digital entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and greening entrepreneurship - this symposium brings together educators, practitioners, and innovators from diverse Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions globally.

The outcomes will enhance understanding of innovative approaches in entrepreneurship and provide TVET teachers and trainers with practical tools and methodologies for implementing entrepreneurship programs that empowers TVET graduates to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, create new businesses and access diverse employment opportunities.

Objectives

  • To highlight innovative practices in entrepreneurship education across digital, social, and sustainable domains.
  • To facilitate knowledge exchange, peer learning and collaboration among TVET institutions
  • To inspire new approaches to integrating entrepreneurship in TVET curricula.
